Digital Photography 101

Are you ready to get creative and take your photography skills to the next level? If so, then this is the course for you! Photographer Dana Wiggins is going to start the course by taking you through the basic mechanics of your camera. She will address questions such as: What do all the buttons do? What are all the exposure modes doing? What is the difference in the metering modes? Also on the first night of class, you will learn just how easy it is to shoot a manual exposure and, through Dana's fun teaching style and informative critiques, you will be amazed at how easy it is to understand the relationship between f/stops, shutter speeds and ISO; and this is just the first night of class! As the course goes on, more topics covered will include:

- How to get the autofocus to lock onto the things you want it to, which will address the term depth of field and also how to prevent blurry pictures from being taken.

- You will explore different apertures and which ones should be used for different purposes including: sharpness, contrast, background and focus.

- You will also explore the exciting world of motion-filled exposures where you will learn about the creative use of shutter speed, freezing action, implying motion and much more.

If you are not shooting consistently perfect exposures or if you don't understand why some exposures work and others don't, then this course is for you. By the end, you will have become an expert with your camera and be capable of capturing a perfect exposure every time!
